Mit Deborah Sengl präsentiert ROOM OF FINE ARTS eine vielbeachtete aufstrebende österreichische Künstlerin. In ihrer speziellen Ausdruckskraft bedient sie sich der Tierwelt, sozusagen als „Verstärker“, um so in ihren Malereien, Zeichnungen und Skulpturen Machtstrukturen, zeit- und gesellschaftspolitische Thematiken sichtbar zu machen.
„Die Arbeiten Deborah Sengls kreisen um das Thema der Tarnung und der Täuschung. Sie überträgt Fragen nach Identität und der Maskerade auf das Tierreich und gestaltet mittels Malereien, Zeichnungen und Skulpturen ein komplexes Werk, das gerade in der heutigen Zeit Assoziationen zum Rollenverhalten der menschlichen Gesellschaft und damit auch Kritik an diesem hervorruft. Deborah Sengl (*1974 in Wien) studierte an der Hochschule für angewandte Kunst in Wien, an der Kunsthochschule Berlin/Weißensee und diplomierte in der Meisterklasse Christian Ludwig Attersee. Sengls Werke sind im In- und Ausland positioniert. Sie lebt in Wien; Graz ist ein Lieblingsort.
